5 Reasons We Love Vintage

1. Its Great for the Environment

We at Emorie Jordon pride ourselves in rescuing, revamping, and re-inventing vintage clothing for the modern bohemian. Nearly 100% of clothing is recyclable, however, only 15% of consumer clothing is actually recycled.  We want to apart of the solution.

We are able to acquire clothing in 2 ways: 1.) We get them directly from the owners   2.) We rescue them from thrift stores.

2. Clothing Quality is Better

As you will notice with most vintage items we carry, clothing from the 1980's and back were made in the U.S.A, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea. They have lasted for more than 50 years due to the quality of the construction and the textile contents.  The style details are truly unmatched and is what makes all the sourcing efforts worth it.

3. Access to Colors, Prints and Details That Aren't Available To Everyone

Although many styles are recycled with each fashion cycle, there are many prints that are not.  Yes, the standard leopard, various florals, and tribal prints are recreated, but many beautiful prints never make it back to the market.  That's one of the best things about owning vintage pieces.  There is a very good chance that you will be one of only a hand full of owners of a garment.  Therefore, showing up to any function with the same item on will not be a worry. Let's face it, we live in a heavily saturated boutique market where many carry the same items.  Your Instagram account will definitely stand apart from others with a mix of vintage style.

4. It Allows Us To Meet People Like You

It has been my experience that people who have an appreciation for vintage are indeed my type of people. I've had the pleasure of meeting many of you at festivals and other business events.  I admire your style and adore your energy!

5. It Connects Our Past To Our Present

There are unique instances when we are able to meet the original owner and/or maker of garments.  They share stories with us on when the garment was made, the why the garment was made and even how the garment was worn.  Although rare, there are times when we are able to share photos from the older owners with the new owners. It is one of the most heart warming connections that we can make in these instances.
